The Evidence of Divine Nearness
Preached on Pentecost Sunday in the month of the evidence of divine nearness, this message asks what people see when someone has truly been close to God. Moses’ face shone after time with God (Exodus 34), and the Council marvelled that Peter and John ‘had been with Jesus’. The Holy Spirit gives power to do what the flesh cannot (Acts 1:8), and every believer has the same access to the Father. Walking through Psalm 23, it describes what nearness brings: provision, rest by still waters, a peaceful life, a guided path (Proverbs 3:5-6), and comfort without fear, even in the valley.
