A Deeper Dimension of Intimacy
Closing the month of divine nearness, this short exhortation says God is not stagnant and we are ‘meant for more’. Nothing we possess compares with intimacy with God, and He wants to take us beyond intimacy into a deeper dimension. Like the deer that pants for water (Psalm 42), life without deep communion with God is not really living. Ezekiel’s river rose from ankle-deep to knee-deep, waist-deep and then over his head (Ezekiel 47), and believers are urged to move beyond ‘ankle-deep Christianity’ and surrender to God’s voice above every distraction.
